The second-hand shopping app has updated its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes but did not contact every member regarding the update. Digital Channels Response Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a different size category than originally posted as a result of the reclassification. Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces. The platform has recommended to check their listings and update the measurements by hand if necessary, resulting in member annoyance. Size Classification Modifications Earlier, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. User Accounts One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Another user, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as size 20–22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Necessary Adjustments A different user, based in Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products". "This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she stated. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK. It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
