The Streaming Platform is Developing a Far Cry TV Series from the Minds of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The latest Far Cry game that players explored was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it has a reputation for celebrating violence and insanity with the same excitement, all while telling engaging, ideologically themed stories. No wonder then that the network’s new order for a Far Cry anthology series attracted two creators whose creations have embodied all of those things.

Show Details

Inspired by Ubisoft's hit video game property, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' style by having a different location and ensemble in each season.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as showrunners on the series via their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared magnificent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is original, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this cherished property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also star in the show, but currently, we are unsure of what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney finalizing a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.

“Being able to collaborate together with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly supportive, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And along the way, my FX team constantly supports me with their steady confidence and support.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology show. Every title is a interpretation of a idea, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” explained Hawley. “To develop a epic action show that can shift from one instalment to the next, while always delving into the nature of society through this intricate and turbulent viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m eager to work with Rob and bring our shared irreverent, daring approach to the audience.”

A release window for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
